For a while now, I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to watch Hotel Transylvania. It looked like a cute movie, but I was hesitant because it had a lot of negative reviews saying that the film isn’t good for children. Luckily, thanks to a friend of mine who works at a theater near me, I found out about Hotel Transylvania 2 coming soon to theaters! This would be my chance to give the film a shot without having to pay for it. All right then…. Much to my surprise, the film is actually really funny. The animation is fantastic and visuals are amazing! You can tell that this was one of the best animated films of 2012. One thing I’ve learned about Hotel Transylvania 2 is that it is not for kids. The content in this film can be considered inappropriate for children under 10 years old. There are potentially some suggestive moments in the film, so if you have younger kids in your family, you may want to skip this one. Like the first film, Hotel Transylvania 2 is about Count Dracula, who owns a luxurious hotel located in Romania. The hotel is filled with monsters like werewolves, mummies, ghosts and other non-human characters. Dracula’s daughter (Mavis) falls in love with a human named Jonathan. Mavis wants to marry Jonathan even though her father forbids it because humans are known to be bad creatures that often hurt monsters. Dracula doesn’t like the idea of his daughter getting married to a human and he tries to do everything in his power to prevent her marriage. However, when Jonathan makes her cry in the hotel lobby, Dracula realizes that she is in love and he reluctantly gives them his blessing. Later on, Mavis and Jonathan wed and Dracula decides that he can get back into Jonathan’s good graces by inviting him into the hotel for a quick night out. However, things quickly go awry when Mavis realizes that Jonathan is not a werewolf but actually a human! In horror, she screams at Dracula not to let them leave the hotel. However, Dracula misses the window and misses the chance to keep them in the hotel safe forever. Before they leave, Mavis also gives birth to two twin babies. And from there, all hell breaks loose as vampires from around the world try to kidnap the twins so that they can bring them back as monsters. I won’t spoil anything for you guys but if you want a good laugh accompanied by a great storyline, I highly recommend going to see Hotel Transylvania 2 this weekend! I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can’t wait till I have a chance to go back a third time. cfa1e77820
